Sons Studio
Sons Studio is a fine art studio based in Leucadia and founded by artist Tait Hawes. The small independent studio was born during the pandemic and is run in conjunction with his wife Christine. Launched in 2021 the studio strives to introduce both the public and trade to Tait's unique collection of work. Tait spent years studying and working on his technical skills as a painter and illustrator, but now what brings him the most joy is not having to make a perfect mark. Gestural, intuitive, lights and darks. Tait grew up in York, ME and Portsmouth, NH and obtained his BFA from Massachusetts College of Art where he studied Painting, Sculpture, Printmaking and Design. He also studied in Florence, Italy where he completed an intensive painting and drawing study that solidified his passion and love for creating art. His current focuses are watercolors(with pen and ink) on paper and mixed media paintings on canvas. His goal is to make art that emotes a feeling and inspires, but that is also accessible to everyone therefore both prints and originals are available. Sons Studio hopes to bring happiness, laughter, love, kindness and a bit of rebellion to your home.
